Newbury’s enormous Grandstand rooms overlooking the racecourse are divided into a series of conference spaces using temporary partitions. Presentations include multimedia elements such as sound and video, as well as the speakers’ voices being amplified in each of the spaces. Until 2013, these events were hampered by the disturbing spill of noise from each of these partitioned spaces; making presentations inaudible at times, and frustrating organisers and delegates alike.
The conference organisers, Corporate Events, recruited Direct Acoustic Solutions to apply their expertise in acoustic problem solving to advise on a solution to this serious problem, which threatened the future of the conference.
Direct Acoustic Solutions designed, manufactured and installed bespoke, acoustically treated temporary partition walls for the venue. These walls created discrete conference rooms, which comprehensively contained the sound produced in each space, creating the most successful conference event yet at this venue.
