A Configurable Zone Array at a Prestigious Venue

A flexible, event-ready sound system that moves effortlessly around different areas of the venue, without compromising performance or control

Set in the heart of the Essex countryside, Braxted Park Estate is a quintessentially English venue, blending historic grandeur with beautifully landscaped grounds. Renowed for luxury weddings and corporate functions, the estate attracts discerning clients year-round. But like many rural venues, Braxted Park faces a familiar challenge: how to deliver immersive, high-energy sound without disrupting the peace beyond its walls.

The Challenge: Noise Management with Event Flexibility

Braxted Park needed a sound system that could adapt to a variety of events, from elegant receptions to high-energy parties, while delivering full impact with minimal setup time.

The complication? The dancefloor location changed regularly, based on each event’s layout. This meant the audio system had to be repositioned daily, without sacrificing sound quality or breaching noise limits.

A fixed installation was out of the question. And with tight turnaround between events, manually reinstalling the system wasn’t feasible either from a time or cost point of view. What the venue needed was a precision-targeted system, mobile enough to move with the event, while still meeting strict acoustic regulations.

The Solution: Zone Array x Custom Engineered Roller System

Direct Acoustics developed a bespoke acoustic strategy built around our signature Zone Array, renowned for its tightly controlled sound dispersion and targeted bass frequency precision.

While the Zone Array is known for its clarity amd control, what made this project unique was how we delivered it.

We engineered a custom roller-mounted platform, enabling the entire speaker system to glide effortlessly along the full 30-metre span of the marquee. Staff can repostition the system in minutes with no tools, no disassembly, and no recalibration required.

The result is a versatile, high-performance sound solution that adapts to any event layout, delivering focussed audio exactly where it’s needed, on the dancefloor, and nowhere else.

Getting Into The Technicalities

The system consistently delivers 95.8dB LAeq (t3min) at the heart of the dancefloor, more than enough to keep a wedding crowd dancing, while keeping sound levels for neighbours well below audible.

Braxted already had existing internal and external background speakers, wireless microphones and music sources in place which they wanted to retain. The Zone Array system’s adaptability meant we were able to easily integrate these alongside additional new background and stage monitor speakers.

With all inputs and speakers running through our custom audio processor, Braxted is confident they’re delivering the right audio at the right levels across the venue. To top it all off, everything is controlled via a physical remote and a dedicated iPad remote, giving them an easy to use, plug and play audio solution.

By combining acoustic precision with engineering ingenuity, we achieved both freedom of movement and tight sound containment; a rare pairing in the world of mobile event setups.

Business Transformation Results

The roller-mounted Zone Array has significantly improved the efficiency of Braxted Park’s event operations by streamlining their setup.

With the ability to reposition the system effortlessly between events, the estate now enjoys consistent, high-quality sound wherever the dancefloor is placed, without delay, disruption, or compromise.

This project highlights Direct Acoustics’ strength in adapting advanced acoustic solutions to real-world venue demands. Whether fixed or mobile, we make sound work in the right places.

"Controlling the sound of parties and events in a marquee within our parkland setting is essential to the sustainability of our event's business. Our neighbours' privacy and enjoyment of the quiet calm of the countryside is paramount and Direct Acoustics's solutions has been a 'game changer' from that point of view. The flexibility and ingenuity of their mobile solution for Braxted Park, whereby we can easily change the position of the dance floor array depending on the type of event we're hosting, has been something that prospective clients have noted and appreciated. Doubtless it has helped us win business as has the ability for the elder generation to enjoy a conversation at the table while the younger generation are getting the full dance floor experience! The difference between those two spaces at a party is remarkable. Finally, Direct Acoustics's after-sales service has been impeccable throughout. They have always supported us in making the necessary tweaks during the 'bedding in' period and continue to do so to this day, long after installation. The team has been a pleasure to work with. In short, whilst it has not been an insubstantial investment, I can honestly say it is one I would not hesitate to make again today."
